Hey guys, just checking in to let you all know where we're at with our Whitney For Whitney Bay fundraising. First I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has donated. I really appreciate the support that so many of you have given. Right now we have raised $14,555. That means that we have $185,445 to go before September 1st! I know that is a big number, but I believe that we can get there! So keep those donations coming and share our cause with all of your friends and family. Only $1,455 before we can add another strip of water to our stream, so let's fill that baby up!

Today is the day
This morning I was really disappointed when I checked the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy's email and saw that we haven't received any donations to the Whitney Bay Project. However, I also realized what a hypocrite I have been. How can I be upset about people not donating when I haven't even donated?! So this morning I'm changing that. Although I'm a student who doesn't have a lot to give, I hope that my $20 dollar donation will be an example to all of my friends and the friends of the CWC. Its not about what you give, big or small, every contribution helps. Remember, just $10 dollars saves 25.6 square feet of this rare wetland habitat, but if we don't meet our goal we won't be able to save any of it. So join me today in donating to this important project!

Hi! Welcome to the Whitney For Whitney Bay Blog!
The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy is working to save property at Whitney Bay. This area is made up of wetland shoreline, restorable lake shoreline, and creek bank. This is such an important area to preserve because it is the most biologically diverse aquatic habitat on Chautauqua Lake! In order to save this property the Conservancy has to raise $200,000 by September 1st, and WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Acquiring this property is such a rare opportunity for the Conservancy to restore lakeshore that was formerly used for camping and recreation. But if we don’t raise enough money it will be sold for development. Join me, Whitney, in our mission to save this land and help keep our waters safe for generations to come.
There are a number of ways that you can tune in. Every Wednesday we will be posting a new Whitney For Whitney Bay video, which you can find on our Facebook page, on Instagram at whitney4whitney bay, or here on my blog. During these videos we will take a virtual trip to the site and dig deeper into its conservation values, and keep you posted about the progress we've made toward our fundraising goal!
Most importantly, PLEASE DONATE!!! Under "I would like to support the CWC by:" simply specify Whitney Bay.
